The invention refers to a method for controlling honey bee pests and diseases in capped brood, and to a device for the application of such method. It consists of the fact that the combs containing the capped brood are removed from the hive, the bees laying on them are removed, and are then placed on a surface by banging them gently, so that the capped brood for which the last shedding has ended and which are not glued to the cell walls will fall to the bottom, in a bath of melted wax maintained at a temperature of 80 degrees. Uncapping elements made of net with holes of approximately 2 mm2 are introduced in a number that is twice the number of the combs prepared for uncapping. The uncapping elements are removed successively from the wax bath and are applied, one at a time, on each face of the combs. After about 10 minutes, when the wax has solidified, the comb is lifted in the vertical position, the uncapping element is removed by pulling, together with the caps of the cells and, maintaining the vertical position, the treatment is applied directly on the uncapped brood and is introduced in the hive, or the uncapped combs are introduced in the hive. Then a classical treatment is applied. The combs thus prepared and treated are re-capped by the bees in the next 12...24 hours.
