An HF data transfer cable comprises two groups (1, 2) of four insulated conductors each eg. (3, 4, 5) which are warped together with a relatively long pitch, held in position by a dielectric cord (6) or (7) wound with the same lay but smaller pitch. The cords (6, 7) space the two groups (1, 2) which lie parallel to each other and are surrounded by an insulating tape (8) spirally wound against the lay of the groups (1, 2) with edges overlapping. A compound tape comprising an aluminium outer end polyester inner layer is wrapped around the complete assembly stabilised by a metal wire (10) and the whole is covered by a final protective sheath during an extrusion process.
