PURPOSE: A method for parallel transmitting data at a fast Ethernet is provided to improve the efficiency of a transmission line and obtain a fast transfer rate by transmitting data in a 8 bit, that is, byte unit in a reconciliation layer. CONSTITUTION: An MAC(Media Access Control) layer(101) configures an Ethernet frame by adding preamble, an SA(Source Address), a DA(Destination Address), and an FCS(Frame Check Sequence) to data transmitted from an upper layer. A reconciliation layer(102) receives the configured Ethernet frame for combining the frame so as to be 8-bit(110). The combined data are transmitted to a PCS(Physical Coding Sub-layer)(103) through an M II interface(108). A transmitting encoder(104) 8 bit-to-10 bit encodes the combined data. The coded data are transmitted to a 10 bit transmitting shift register(105). The coded 10 bit data are parallel transmitted through two pairs of UTP5(Unshielded Twisted Pair) cables among four pairs. The Ethernet frame is received by using other two pairs of UTP5 cables. The received frame is stored in a receiving shift register(106) by two bits. The stored 10 bit data are decoded into 8 bit data. The decoded 8 bit data are transmitted to the MAC layer(101) through the M II interface(108). The preamble, the SA, the DA, and the FCS are removed from the received Ethernet frame to transmit the Ethernet frame to an upper LLC layer.
