PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the formation of an oil passage, and provide an excellent flow state of oil by forming a longitudinal direction oil passage along the arranging direction of a multi-cylinder portion so as to communicate with ring-like branch passages surrounding holes receiving injection nozzles or the like. ;SOLUTION: Center holes 36 receiving injection nozzles or the like are formed in the cylinder head 31 of a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine for respective cylinder portions, and valve guide holes 54, 55 extending toward the end portion of an intake passage in a deck face facing a cylinder block respectively. Recessed portions 52, 53 for tappets coaxially disposed on the respective valve guide holes 54, 55, and bearing cradles 32, 33 for cam shafts are formed. A longitudinal direction oil passage 51 for pressure feeding oil to tappets, and cam shaft bearing area are formed along a cylinder portion arranging direction in the cylinder head 31, and the passage 51 communicates with ring-like branch passages 37 surrounding the center holes 36.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
