Recovery of paraffins and/or microwaxes from used plastics

Recovery of paraffins and/or microwaxes from used plastics comprises: (a) melting the plastics in a melting unit (1) by friction and outer heater to = 280 deg C with exclusion of oxygen and partially dehalogenating; (b) heating the melt obtained with an already cracked melt from a stirrer (2) and transferring to the stirrer (2) via a filter system (4); (c) further decomposing at 300-380 deg C with exclusion of oxygen for 10-100 minutes and dehalogenating; (d) feeding via a filter system (5) through a heater (6) and subsequently via a pump receiver (7) with melt pump (8) to a reactor (9) having a pressure of 2-60 (preferably 2-6) bar; (e) subjecting to degradative distillation by flash vaporisation at 400-550 deg C and at 0.005-1 bar pressure; and (f) recycling plastic fragments not lying in the C-number range from the base of the reactor (9) to the pump receiver (7).
