Waste incineration slag volume stability is tested by radiography to determine the presence of mineral phases which affect volume stability. The volume stability of treated or crude waste incineration slags is tested by x-radiographic determination, in powder samples, of the presence of characteristic x-ray reflections of mineral phases which negatively affect volume stability.
