METHOD FOR FILTERING OUT BARKHAUSEN NOISE AND MAGNETIC DISK DEVICE APPLYING THE METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To filter out a noise without giving an influence to a magnetized state of a magnetic medium by supplying a current to an information recording head in the state that the mead is unloaded from the medium. ;SOLUTION: A current is supplied to an information recording head in the state that the head is unloaded from a magnetic recording medium to filter out a Barkhausen noise. It is not necessary to set a writing area for filtering out the noise on the medium according to this method, and hence a data area on the medium can be fully used for writing the data. Here, occurrence of a reading error at the time of reading the information from the medium is detected, and it is preferable to filter out the noise after the error occurs.
