The present method is characterized by (a) application of a polysaccharide solution containing at least two components to the surface that is to be protected from contamination, whereby one component of said polysaccharide solution is formed by a first polysaccharide forming directly a solid film when being precipitated from the solution by evaporation of solvent and the second component is formed by a second polysaccharide forming a swelling or soluble film when being precipitated from the solution by evaporation of solvent, or which forms by interaction with the first polysaccharide a swelling or soluble film when being precipitated from the solution by evaporation of solvent, (b) drying the applied solution under formation of the solid film on the surface that is to be protected from contamination (c) treating the surface with the film applied thereto with a liquid being capable to dissolve the film or to cause swelling capacity thereof and in the end (d) removing undesired contamination by complete or partial removal of the film from the surface.
