Individual modular switch and control valves etc. are connected mechanically and pneumatically, and positioned on a board. Each module (1,2,3,4,5) has a wiring matrix with integrated functional unit. Each module has selectively activated access openings to the wiring in corresponding sides and/or fronts, to form connections between the modules. The connections may also be formed by direct association with seals, or by separate pipe connections (8,11). The access openings are closed by plugs or screws. The module blocks are of light metals.
