PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a reflection type liquid crystal panel which can give a high quality reflection type display with a wide angle of visibility and bright by adding optimum reflection characteristics to a reflection electrode. SOLUTION: The substrate 1 for a liquid crystal panel has a transistor and a reflection electrode 13 connected to the transistor on a substrate 1. A second conductive layer 10a is formed below the reflection electrode 13 in the region corresponding to the reflection electrode 13 through the interlayer insulating film while a great number of holes are formed in the layer to produce recesses and projections. A light-shielding film to cover the gap of the reflection electrode 13 in the plan view is formed from the second conductive layer 10a, and no holes are formed in the lightshielding film.
