58 Antifungal activity and Preparation-method of antibiotics produced from Micromonospora coerulea Ao58

PURPOSE: A Micromonospora coerulea Ao58 strain having antimicrobial effect on plant pathogenic fungi and a method for producing antimicrobial agents using the same are provided, thereby the growth of plant pathogenic fungi can be effectively inhibited. CONSTITUTION: The Micromonospora coerulea Ao58 strain (KCTC 8982P) inhibits the growth of plant pathogenic fungi such as Phytophthora capsici, Rhizoctonia solani, Magnaporthe grisea, Colletotrichum gloeosporioides, Botrytis cinerea, Cladosporium cucumerinum and Didymella bryoniae. The method for producing antimicrobial agents comprises the steps of: incubating Micromonospora coerulea Ao58 (KCTC 8982P) in a liquid medium containing carbon source, nitrogen source and inorganic salts and XAD-resin; separating mycelium from XAD-resin; extracting mycelium with the mixture of ethanol and acetone and concentrating it; passing the extract of mycelium through the column packed with C18 resin and silica gel; subjecting the active fraction to Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography and TLC; and extracting the eluate with ethanol and purifying it by HPLC.
