The method involves supplying a current through an inductive component (1) with a voltage during a flow phase, which is larger during a first part of the flow phase than a second part. The inductive component is subject to a constant voltage (UK) generated by a constant voltage source (13) during the first part of the flow phase and to a supply voltage (UB) during the second part of the flow phase.
