PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for separating a dispersed layer on a surface of a work piece in a direct current manner so that the dispersed layer can be electrically separated at a relatively small cost, and these separated dispersed layers occupy a relatively large ratio of a dispersed phase.;SOLUTION: In the method for separating in a direct current manner the dispersed layer on the surface of the work piece, in particular, the dispersed layer in a bearing layer in a flat bearing shell, electrolytes having the finely distributed and dispersed phases form a flow component parallel to the surface, and are moved with respect to the surface of the work piece to be coated. In order to provide a favorable method and favorable conditions, the surface of the work piece to be coated is profile-worked so as to have the average minimum profile of 5 μm before the coating, and is then coated in the flow component of the electrolytes to the surface of the work piece in the direction orthogonal to the possible profile direction.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
