PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new protein specifically and highly expressed in an activated liver stellate cell, to provide a method for diagnosing hepatopathy using the expression amount of the protein as an index, and so on.;SOLUTION: The objective protein STUF derived from human is expressed in an activated human liver stellate cell, and has the amino acid sequence represented by sequence 2 (refer to Specification).
