PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such problems that a conventional semiconductor laser with an electric field absorption type optical modulator does not have enough high voltage or response speed required to suppress chirping.;SOLUTION: By adding another electric field absorption type optical modulator 2b to suppress chirping to a conventional semiconductor laser with an electric field absorption type light modulator (1, 2a), chirping (fluctuation in the frequency of light) can be decreased even during fast modulation.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
