The equipment is for the protection of a person carrying out work on or to a building and comprises a base plate (5) matching the shape of cosntruction parts (2) supporting the roof structure (1) and fixed to such parts. A pin (6) is supported by the base plate and has an eyelet (7) at its free end, which is above the roof construction. Over the pin a cover (10) is fitted provided with a foot plate (11) which rests on the upper surface of the roof construction and is covered by a water-deflecting layer (4). Over the pin and the cover a sleeve (12) of flexible material is fitted and connects to them in a watertight manner. With the eyelet a life line can be connected, which connects directly or indirectly with the person to be protected.
