Procedure for the optimization of the closing time of level crossings

The method involves, on detecting a request (Anf. 1) from a second train (Z2) approaching the crossing and before switching on the crossing for a first transition, delaying a train (Z1) which would usually be first to switch-on/reach the crossing so that the switch-on/occupation time occurs at the earliest at the switch-on time and its switch-off/vacation time at the latest at the switch-off time of the other train passing through the crossing.
