An Independent claim is included for an effect forming multi-layer coating having a combination effect prepared by application of the powder paint/slurry (I) onto a cathodically deposited and thermally cured or partially cured electrophoretic coating followed by curing of the powder slurry (I) alone by physical or thermal and/or actinic radiation or together with the electrophoretic coating to produce a combination effect layer.
