The closure (1) for the foldable bonnet of a motor vehicle engine has a securing closure (2) fixed to the vehicle bodywork, provided with a pivotably located securing pawl (4) and with a likewise pivotably located securing part (7), on which engages the wire (8) of a Bowden cable (10). The Bowden cable casing (10') is pivotably provided via a pipe bend (11) on an angle section (2') of the securing closure.
