PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new functional nucleic acid targeting an NS3 protease and helicase of hepatitis C virus (HCV). SOLUTION: The RNA molecule has the following base sequence (1) and is capable of inhibiting the NS3 protease and/or NS3 helicase of the HCV. 5'-A-Y-N-X-B-3' (1) (in the sequence, A is 5'-GGGAGA-3' ; X and Y are each a mutually complementary base sequence having 3-9 number of bases; N is a base sequence having 3-7 number of bases; and B is 5'- UUGAGGGUAGAAUGGGACUACCUUUCCUCUCUCCU-3', with the proviso that the sum total of the numbers of bases in base sequences of N, X and Y is =22).
