The planting box "A" is constructed from beam elements (1), spacers (2) and corner elements (3). The box incorporates openings (4) which allow the plant roots access to the outside of the box. The spacers are generally rectangular to their cross-section. The ends of the beam elements attached to each other are provided with indentations to form a corer joint and with matching holes(12) to receive the passing-through fixing element(5) for the fixing of the elements to each other.
