The railings are made from a galvanised material and comprise tubular posts (2) containing removable cable holder parts (3) which become detached from the posts if they become bent following a vehicle collision. These parts include locking bolts (7) for keeping the cables held together once the parts have been removed from the posts. A reinforcing bolt (8) increases the resistanc e of the upper part of the post to a vehicle collision. The end cables are anchored in the ground and secured to anchor beams.
