PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a PDP capable of easily and precisely forming phosphor and reflector layers even in the case of a fine cell structure, of forming the phosphor and reflector layers uniformly in slits between barrier ribs even when the barrier ribs have a stripe-like form, and of easily forming the layers on the side walls of the barrier ribs.;SOLUTION: A phosphor or reflector ink is applied by running a nozzle along the barrier ribs 17 while flowing out the ink continuously from the nozzle 24. In this case, the nozzle may be run along the ribs with the nozzle aimed at the side wall of the ribs, and the applied inks may be stuck to the side wall by giving them external force after the phosphor ink is applied. The nozzle may be run while bridging with the phosphor ink between the inside surface of a plate and the nozzle. An absorptivity for the phosphor or reflector ink on the side walls may be set greater than that on the bottom, in the recessed parts between the barrier ribs.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
