A metallic conducting surface region (2,3) is formed in the oxidized and/or phosphated surface (1) of an alloy containing Al and/or Mg. The surface region is subjected to laser radiation in order to remove the oxide/phosphate layer. The exposed region is then coated with a metallic conducting substance. The surface is artificially oxidized. The coating substance is e.g. a silicone adhesive or an acryl resin based adhesive.
