The invention relates to a plastic packaging tray comprising a base (2) which is bordered by lateral walls (3). The inventive tray is characterised in that said base (2) comprises a plurality of uniformly- or essentially-uniformly-distributed holes (5) which occupy more than 3 %, and preferably more than 4 %, of the total surface area of the base. Said tray is particularly suitable as packaging for seafood products, in particular shellfish (prawns or lobsters). The invention can be used for the storage, transport and sales display of the above-mentioned products and also for treatment processes with hot or cold liquids or steam, without the need for said products to be removed from the packaging.
