GENETIC MARKER FOR DECREASED ACTIVITY OF CYTOCHROME P450 2J2(CYP 2J2) PROTEIN AND METHOD FOR DETECTING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A genetic marker for decreased activity of cytochrome P450 2J2(CYP 2J2) protein and a method for detecting the same are provided, thereby anticipating drug response difference between individuals to a drug metabolized by CYP 2J2 through examination for possession of the genetic marker, and diagnosing a disease caused by the decreased activity of CYP 2J2. CONSTITUTION: A genetic marker for decreased activity of cytochrome P450 2J2 protein encodes a mutated CYP 2J2 protein in which an amino acid, glycine at amino acid position 312 in the amino acid sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO: 2 is substituted by arginine, wherein a base G(Guanine) at nucleotide position 934 in the nucleotide sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO: 1 is substituted by A(Adenine). A method for detecting the genetic marker for decreased activity of cytochrome P450 2J2 protein comprises the steps of: (1) isolating DNA from a blood sample; (2) PCR amplifying the DNA with primers having the nucleotide sequences set forth in SEQ ID NO: 13 and SEQ ID NO: 14; (3) treating the amplified DNA with a restriction enzyme MspI: and (4) comparing the band size of DNA fragments digested with the restriction enzyme.
