FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: according to proposed method, water separated from cooled exhaust gases is added to fuel-air mixture when internal combustion engine is operating. Exhaust gases are cooled in steam-ejector cooling plant. Regulation is provided by controlled thermal action onto condenser of steam-ejector cooling plant depending on exhaust gas moisture content. Proposed thermal action regulator contains atomizers installed in engine air intake pipeline and connected to water service tank through flow rate regulator connected with engine operation mode setter, and distributor installed in exhaust gas outlet pipeline coupled with condenser and connected with atmosphere. Condenser communicates with steam-ejector cooling plant, atmosphere and, through filter, with service tank. Service tank is coupled with pump connected with flow rate regulator coupled with atomizers installed in air intake pipeline. Reversible fan is connected with control unit coupled with infrared moisture content meters of exhaust gases located in water separation system at condenser inlet and at outlet of condenser of steam-ejector cooling plant. EFFECT: provision of control of steam-ejector cooling plant, reduced energy and mass- dimension characteristics. 3 cl, 1 dwg
