PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polarization wave switching antenna capable of emitting both of linear polarization and circular polarization (or elliptic polarization) by switching them in a smaller size and lighter weight. PSOLUTION: A horizontal polarization wave emitted from a waveguide slot array 16 is emitted outside via a vertical polarization wave suppression grating 18, an extending waveguide 22 and a radome 24. A plurality of meander sheets in which a plurality of meander lines are formed are included in the radome 24. Then, when the meander lines are made into non-grounded states, the horizontal polarization wave is converted into the circular polarization or the elliptic polarization and outputted and when the meander lines are made into grounded states, the horizontal polarization wave is outputted. The polarization wave switching antenna capable of emitting linear polarization, the circular polarization, the elliptic polarization by switching them is obtained in a smaller size and lighter weight. In addition, detection performance and receiving performance in receiving signals of radar equipment and communication equipment are enhanced by more precisely controlling polarization characteristics according to states.
