The invention relates to electrical engineering and can be used for converting devices, for example for pulse voltage regulators, power-factor correctors, rectifiers, frequency and voltage converters operating at high input voltages for actuating city and railway transport networks. In order to attain a technical result in the form of an increased performance for a diode recovery, the inventive method for limiting a diode (1) recover inverse current consists in series connecting said diode (1) with a saturable choke (2) which is shunted by a circuit consisting of a serially connected resistor (3) and a second choke (4) switched-on according to the diode (1), in introducing an additional coil (5) which is arranged on the core of the saturable choke (2) and biased by a constant current. The number of turns of the coil (5), a current direction and magnitude thereof are selected in such a way that said core of the saturable choke (2) is saturated for a direct current through the diode (1). The inverse current for the diode (1) is obtained in such a way that it is constant in magnitude and proportional to a magnetising current. The process for magnetising the core of the saturable choke (2) is initiated immediately after the diode recovery, the resistor losses are reduced more than by 10 times and the degree of efficiency is increased.
