PURPOSE: A projection system is provided to reduce the number of parts and to save the manufacturing cost for the projection system. CONSTITUTION: A projection system includes a polarizing device for allowing first to third lights to be transmitted through or for blocking the first to third lights according to polarizing components of the first to third lights. A dichroic prism(14) includes first and second dichroic faces(14a,14b) and a prism face(14c) in order to separate color of the first light to the third light. A first picture forming device to a third image forming device are opposed to first and second dichroic faces(14a,14b) and a prism face(14c) in order to form image by using light separated from the dichroic prism. The first dichroic face(14a) of the dichroic prism reflects the second and third lights to the first image forming device, and refracts the second light and the third light toward the second dichroic face(14b). The second dichroic face(14b) reflects the second light refracted from the first dichroic face(14a) to the prism face(14c), and refracts the third light to the third image forming device.
