PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display is provided to realize an uniform viewing angle by forming tilting sources as valleys, and reduce loss of transmittance by forming a disclination line in the center of the valley. CONSTITUTION: A lower substrate(50) and an upper substrate(55) are opposite to each other at a predetermined distance. A liquid crystal layer is interposed between the lower substrate and the upper substrate, and is formed of liquid crystal(53) having negative dielectric anisotropy. A color resin layer(56) is formed on an inside surface of the upper substrate, having a plurality of valleys(57) regularly formed inside each unit pixel. Relative electrodes(58) are formed on the color resin layer including the valleys. Pixel electrodes are formed on an inside surface of the lower substrate, having '+'-shaped slits(52) arranged around the valleys. A vertical alignment film is interposed between the pixel electrode and the liquid crystal layer, and the relative electrodes and the liquid crystal layers. Polarizing plates are attached to outside surfaces of the upper substrate and the lower substrate, making polarizing shafts cross each other.
