摘要

PURPOSE: An automatic laser diode output controlling method and system is provided to compensate for a slow tail effect generated at a photo diode which monitors an output of a laser diode so that it stabilizes a servo control operation. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises several steps. A lead level of a laser signal reflected from a disc is detected(S602). A reference value for the lead level is normalized by using the detected lead level(S604). According to a normalization result, the reference value for the lead level is controlled(S606). The reference value is for setting a lead level of the laser diode. The strength of the laser signal is detected in a lead interval of the laser signal by sampling an output of a main optical detector which receives a main beam from the laser diode.
