PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anti-reflection film superior in scratching resistance, anti-fouling and durability with low reflectivity and dazzling, and to provide a polarizer using the anti-reflection film and an image display apparatus.;SOLUTION: In the anti-reflection film provided with an anti-reflection coating including a low refractive index layer formed by application of at least a composition for forming the low refractive index layer on a transparent support, the composition for forming the low refractive index layer contains at least any one of hydrolysate and its partial condensate of an organic cyril compound expressed by the following formula (1), and center line surface roughness Ra of the outermost surface of the anti-reflection film is 0.005-0.20 μm. The general formula (1) is R¹¹_mSi(X¹¹)_n. Wherein, X¹¹ denotes -OH, a halogen atom, -OR¹² group or -OCOR¹² group. R¹¹ denotes an alkyl group, an alkenyl group or an aryl group.
