A method for securing a portable security module for use with a decoding element, wherein the portable security module and the decoding element allow to descramble scrambled information, comprises encrypting with an encrypting key output data to be transmitted out of the portable security module (53, 606), writing as buffer data the encrypted output data into an input/output buffer of the portable security module (54, 607), decrypting the buffer data with a decrypting key (56, 610), the decrypting key allowing to decrypt data encrypted with the encrypting key, and transmitting the decrypted buffer data to an input/output port of the portable security module (57, 611).
