The invention relates to systems for emergency protection of nuclear power plants, and more specifically to a system for emergency cooling of the reactor core in an accident with a loss of coolant, namely to protection devices for pits (USP) in an emergency cooling system of a pressurized water reactor, a filter module in a device for protecting pits and a filter element of the pit protection device. The objective of the invention is to protect the sump from the accumulation of debris in an accident with a coolant leak. To solve this problem, a sump protection device in the emergency cooling system of a pressurized water-cooled nuclear reactor is proposed, characterized in that it contains a system of filters installed on the inlet of the upper part of the sump located in the bottom of the reactor containment shell, connected to the intake opening of the emergency cooling system pipeline, which are filter modules connected to the collectors that prevent debris from entering the intake opening of the emergency cooling system pipelines, while each filter module has side and top slotted gratings and filter elements located inside, made in the form of filter pipes, the side surface of which has slots, and placed inside the pipes of perforated distribution pipes, the internal cavities of which are connected to the manifolds.
