The invention relates to a transparent fire-resistant glazing comprising at least two panes that are disposed at a defined distance from each other and form an intermediate space. At least the pane facing the fire is embodied as a glass pane or a vitroceramic pane while the intermediate space contains a layer that foams in case of a fire and is provided with alkali silicates to which organic additives are optionally added. The foaming layer contains a UV protection formulation encompassing one or several system-compatible UV absorbers or a combination of one or several system-compatible UV absorbers and one or several radical absorbers. The invention further relates to a method for producing said transparent fire-resistant glazing, the use thereof, and two variations of the disclosed method for producing the UV protection formulation. Using UV protection formulations in optionally organically modified silicon-containing fire-resistant gels results in a substantial improvement of the resistance to aging due to UV radiation and thermal effects.
