The assembly has a transversal reinforcement unit (26) for an intermediate part (18) longitudinally situated between rear and front rigid tubular parts (14, 16) of a steering shaft support (6). The part (18) is presented in the form of tongues (20) connected with the parts (14, 16) and deformed radially towards outwards. The unit (26) has an attachment (28) connected with the part (14) and extends in the direction of the part (16). An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle comprising a steering column assembly.
