The safety appliance (1) has an open hollow body (10) at opposite ends. The hollow body has at one end an outward pointing corbel (30) and a covering equipment (40). The covering equipment has an opening (50) and is form-fit connectable with the corbel of the hollow body. The hollow body is made up of an insulating material e.g. of a frost resistant material.
