The arrangement (D) has a pressure wave supercharger (DL) comprising first, second, third and fourth channels. Fresh air (AF) is supplied to the first channel, and compressed fresh air (KF) is discharged from the second channel. Exhaust gas (A) is supplied to the third channel, and discharged from the fourth channel. The supercharger is formed by a hollow body (5) that is fixedly arranged opposite to an internal combustion engine, where the hollow body comprises valves (V1-V4). A pressure area (6) is formed by the hollow body and locked with the valves. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a pressure wave charging arrangement.
