The method involves heating a part of charge air from a charge air supply circuit, by a heater (5) before mixing the charge air with a cooled exhaust gas in order to adjust temperature of the mixture according to engine temperature. The part of super charging air is deviated towards a branch circuit (50) arranged in parallel to a cooler (10) and including the heater. An independent claim is also included for a device for supply of oxidant mixture of fresh air and recycled exhaust gas for a combustion chamber of a spark ignition engine.
