PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a separator for a fuel cell by more uniformly flame treating in the manufacturing method of the separator for the fuel cell by flame treating a separator preform for the fuel cell of a resin containing a conductive material preformed in a projecting and recessed shape. PSOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the separator for the fuel cell manufacturing by flame treating the separator preform for the fuel cell of the resin containing the conductive material preformed in the projecting and recessed shape has a projecting part flame treating process (S12) flame treating a projecting part 24 of the separator preform for the fuel cell and a recessed part flame treating process (S14) selectively flame treating the recessed part of the separator preform for the fuel cell by reducing the heat quantity transmitted to the projecting part. The projecting part flame treating process (S12) preferably conducts flame treatment by masking the recessed part 26 of the separator preform for the fuel cell and the recessed part flame treating process (S14) preferably conducts flame treatment by masking the projecting part 24 of the separator preform for the fuel cell.
