PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system that is simple and can contribute to making the dimensions small. SOLUTION: The fuel cell system comprises a cell stack 10 that is a stacked unit cells, a temperature sensor 16 for detecting the temperature of this cell stack 10, and a storage tank 11, in which a reaction product generated by electrochemical reaction in the cell stack 10, unreacted liquid fuel and oxidizer gas, and unused liquid fuel and water used for the above electrochemical reaction are introduced. The system comprises at least one of a mechanism for controlling the temperature of the reaction product and the unreacted liquid fuel and oxidizer gas introduced into the storage tank 11 so as to make the temperature as prescribed, by detecting the temperature of the cell stack 10 by the above temperature sensor 16, or a mechanism for controlling the quantity of the unused liquid fuel and water.
