A method for a morning call service using a mobile robot and a mobile robot device thereof are provided to continuously wake up a user until the user wakes up by checking whether the user wakes up by making the mobile robot track a user location. A controller(101) controls entire operation of the mobile robot. A memory(106) stores morning call time information, morning call execution location information, and morning call sound data. A mobile device(109) moves the robot to a morning call execution location before a morning call time. A user recognizer(110) determines whether the user is present in the morning call execution location. A sound output part(104) plays a morning call sound in case that the user is present in the morning call execution location. The user recognizer recognizes the user by receiving a wireless signal from a transmitter for transmitting a unique ID as a wireless signal and identifying the unique ID obtained through demodulation of the wireless signal.
