The group of inventions relates to medical technologies, namely, immunotherapy of cancer patients. A surface tumor antigen-based tumor vaccine contains a mixture of surface tumor antigens. A method of obtaining an antitumor vaccine includes culturing tumor cells with the release of surface tumor antigens. The primary culture of living tumor cells, which was previously washed from the growth medium, is exposed to protease, vital for the cells, and the released surface tumor antigens are selected. The treatment of the primary culture of living tumor cells with a protease is repeated at the intervals necessary for restoration of surface tumor antigens by the cells. The surface tumor antigens are accumulated until they reach the dose necessary for vaccination, the composition of the obtained surface tumor antigens is monitored. Trypsin can be used as a protease. A method for carrying out antitumor immunotherapy comprises administering an antitumor vaccine to a patient. The technical result achieved using the patented group of inventions is to increase the effectiveness of the treatment of cancer by enhancing the antitumor immune response.
