A tricyclic spiropiperidine or spiropyrrolidines of formula (I) wherein R1, n, R2, q, X, Y, Z, R3, R4, R5, R6, R7, R8 and R9 are as defined in the specification, process for their preparation, pharmaceutical compositions containing them and their use in treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma, rheumatoid arthritis and multiple sclerosis.
