The assembly (20) has an outside and inside door panels with a non-opaque pane. The inside door panel is located closer to an oven cavity (18) of an oven (10) than the outside door panel. A middle non-opaque pane is supported to intermediate the non-opaque pane of the outside and inside door panels. The outside and inside door panels and middle non-opaque pane are oriented to one another such that the interior of the cavity of the oven can be viewed from outside of the oven. A shield is fitted to the middle non-opaque pane to thaw the heat away from the middle non-opaque pane.
