The present invention relates to a headrest adapted to be mounted on a motor vehicle seatback (5) and comprising a holding element (1) which comprises a central holding part (6) and first and second wedging parts ( 16; 17) rotatably mounted on either side of the central holding part (6) around a first and a second axis of rotation (X1; X2) respectively. According to the invention, the first and second axes of rotation (X1; X2) of the wedging parts (16; 17) are substantially intersecting at a point (P) which is situated below the holding element (1), and which substantially corresponds to the point of articulation of the neck of a user whose head would be disposed against the contact face of the headrest.
