PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition extremely enhancing the sterilizing power and/or the cleaning power of a chlorite compound. PSOLUTION: This invention relates to an aqueous composition containing a chlorite compound, and at least one constituent selected from the group consisting of menthol, menthone, camphor, and borneol. This invention also relates to an aqueous composition of a sterilizing liquid for a contact lens, a disinfecting liquid for a contact lens, a cleaning liquid for a contact lens, a rinsing liquid for a contact lens or a preserving liquid for a contact lens. This invention further relates to an aqueous composition of a multi-purpose solution for a contact lens.
