The present invention relates to new tetrahydronaphthalene-1-carboxylic acid derivatives having apoB secretion / MTP inhibitory activity and concomitant hypolipidemic activity. The invention further relates to methods for preparing such compounds, pharmaceutical compositions comprising said compounds, as well as the use of these compounds as medicaments for the treatment of atherosclerosis, pancreatitis, obesity, hypertriglyceridemia, hypercholesterolemia, hyperlipidemia, diabetes and type II diabetes.
