A circular stapling surgical instrument (85) for clamping and stapling tissues, comprising: a. a handle, a first and a second opposite members to clamp the tissue connected with said handle and move between an open position, to receive the tissue between them, and a closed position, to staple the tissue between them, housing said first member of clamping a plurality of staples, and b. an assembly for at least one of said first and second clamping members, said assembly comprising a fastening means (105) and a reinforcing material (107) circumferentially joined around the periphery of said fastening means (105), said support being supported reinforcing material (107) against a clamping surface of said or said tissue clamping members, characterized in that said clamping means is a substantially rigid structure (105) joined or formed from at least one clamping member of the tissue.
